Building Strong Girls & Girls on the Run
As advocates for women, our organization envisions a community where every girl and woman has the skills to succeed in life. Our philanthropic focus, Building Strong Girls, expresses our philanthropic mission: to provide experiences and resources that build spiritual, mental, and social resiliency in girls today. In doing so, we partner with Girls on the Run. A volunteer-led program, Girls on the Run weaves training for a 5K run with fun, experience-based lessons that improve self-awareness, build a collection of positive experiences, and inspire life-changing confidence through accomplishment. The organization’s programming inspires confidence and healthy lifestyles in young women worldwide.
PHILANTHROPIC EVENTS
GPHI JOE
GPhi Joe is an annual philanthropic field day and obstacle course event hosted by Gamma Phi Beta chapters. The event brings together students, campus organizations, and independent teams for a variety of fun and competitive activities, including inflatable obstacle courses, tug-of-war, sack races, and other field games. The event aims to raise funds and awareness for Gamma Phi Beta’s national philanthropic partner, Girls on the Run, which helps young girls build confidence, strength, and a positive sense of self.
MOONBALL
Moonball is Gamma Phi Beta’s signature philanthropy event, where collegiate chapters throughout North America organize a kickball, volleyball, or basketball tournament each academic year to raise money for our philanthropic partner, Girls on the Run. The event promotes physical activity while also giving our members the opportunity to take on leadership roles and serve as mentors within their communities.
Students, faculty, alumnae and community members are invited to play in the tournament. Funds raised from Moonball tournaments are donated to Girls on the Run at either the local or international level.
